24/7 emergency plumbing in Springdale and Northwest Arkansas

A burst pipe, a leaking water heater or a sewer backup does not wait for Monday. Stith answers emergency calls around the clock, on the same number we use all day.

Chapter 01

What counts as a plumbing emergency

A pipe that has burst and is spraying or pouring. A water heater leaking at the base or from the relief line. A sewer backup coming up through the lowest drain. No water at all to the house. Each of those can ruin floors, drywall and cabinets quickly, and none of them gets better by waiting until the office opens.

Some things feel urgent and are not. A dripping faucet, a running toilet or one slow drain can wait for the next opening on the schedule, Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM. If you are not sure which one you have, call anyway and describe what the water is doing. We will tell you straight.

Emergency service at Stith is not a separate outfit. The company was founded in 1965 by Gary Stith's father and uncle, and the same family shop in Springdale, run by Gary since 1998, takes the call, sends the tech and stands behind the work. That is the whole system, and it is the point.

The first ten minutes, before we arrive

Find the main water shutoff and close it. It is usually where the line enters the house, in a basement, crawlspace or garage, or at the meter near the street. Turn the handle until the flow stops. Knowing where it is before you need it is worth a minute on a calm day, so go look this week.

If the water heater is the problem, shut off its cold-water supply valve and turn the heater off: the breaker for an electric tank, the gas control for a gas one. If water is near the electrical panel, outlets or anything plugged in, stay out of that room and switch off power only if you can reach the breaker without stepping in water.

For a sewer backup, stop running water. No flushing, no laundry, no dishwasher, because everything you send down has nowhere to go but back out. Move rugs and anything valuable off the floor, take a few photos for your records, and then call.

Chapter 03

A real plumber on the phone

Call (479) 751-9691, any hour. That is the number on our vans and on the shop sign at the Lowell Road building, and it is the one tied to Master Plumbing License MP4210 and Contractor License 253980326. One number all day and all night means nothing to look up when the water is already on the floor.

One customer, Brenda Dow, wrote on our site about a hot water tank leak on the Saturday before New Year's Eve. Her words: “The serviceman came a few hours later and fixed the leak!” That is one customer's story, not a promise on timing, but it is what we mean when we say emergency service is available.

The crew is the same crew customers already name in their reviews. Brett Stith is a licensed technician with medical gas certification and backflow credentials, and Zach Stith works the residential side too. They are tradesmen who answer for the work with the family name on the building.

Stopping it tonight, fixing it right tomorrow

In the middle of the night the goal is to stop the damage. That might be a temporary repair, a capped line or a closed valve, enough to get you through until morning. A temporary fix is only honest if everyone knows it is temporary, so we tell you exactly what we did and what is left to do.

In daylight the permanent repair happens: the pipe replaced, the water heater swapped, the line cleared or cut out. The same company that stopped the water can finish the work, so you are not explaining the whole story to a second plumber. All Stith plumbing services are 100% guaranteed, and that includes the follow-up.

While you wait, document the damage. Photos of the wet floor, the ceiling stain and the burst fitting help if you file a claim with your insurance company later. We are plumbers, not adjusters, and we will not tell you what your policy covers, but clear photos make that conversation easier.
